The Irish college (or Leuven Institute for Ireland in Europe) where the conference is taking place has rooms available, for which we have received very competitive conference rates. You can find the reservation form here: reservation-registration-form-for-short-fiction-conference-may-2017 and more informaton about the accommodation at the college here: http://www.leuveninstitute.eu/site/facilities/bedrooms.php. You can send enquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The old town centre of Leuven is quite small, so the Irish college can be reached on foot from all hotels in the town. Yet, we will list some of the options closest to the conference venue below:
New Damshire Hotel: located on the same quiet square as the Irish college: http://www.lodge-hotels.be/en/hotels/b/new-damshire-leuven
De Pastorij: small but nice guesthouse, some 5 mins walk from the Irish college. http://www.depastorij.com/nl/
Martin’s Klooster Hotel: very fancy hotel (but it’s worth checking for cheap deals), some 10 mins walk from the Irish college. http://www.martinshotels.com/en/hotel/klooster-hotel
Theater Hotel: 10 mins walk, between the train station and the Irish college: http://www.lodge-hotels.be/en/hotels/b/theater-hotel-leuven
Begijnhof Congress Hotel: beautiful and quiet hotel at the edge of the medieaval Beguinage, some 10 mins walk from the Irish college, very close to the restaurant for the conference dinner: http://www.bchotel.be/
Two chain hotels that are close are Ibis Hotel Leuven Centrum and Mercure Hotel (both some 10-15 mins walk). The other chain hotels are located near the train station (i.e. some 25 mins walk): a Novotel, an Ibis Budget Hotel, an Etap Hotel and a Radisson Blue Hotel.
You can also find more options – B&B’s, other hotels and guesthouses – on the website of the Leuven tourist office: http://www.visitleuven.be/en/
